The Non-Linear Effects

One Examples

Inside the following image the NLFX is shown:

Non Linear Effect

We start at the upper right corner. There is the Operator gadget. If you press this gadget then the operator list opens and you can select the special effects.
Below is the input image which comes from the Converter Input.
The (empty) clipboard image may be used to connect effects that are not an the same page. You can drag`n`drop Images from an effect output to this clipboard and from this clipboard to any effect input.
On the bottom of the right side you see the output image. This image may be connected with an output of an special effect. This output image will be redirected to the converter-output.

Lets come to the effects inside the effect area:

The first effect is a LoadImage Effect. This effects loads a selected image or a selected image sequence frame by frame. It`s output is connected with the first input of the Merge operator.
The merge operator merges two images. Here we selected the mode horizontally, which means that the images are placed side by side. So we need two images, the first one comes from the LoadImage effect, the second one comes from the converter input. You see the connections between the images. This means, that we drag`n`dropped the images from one field to the other field. The output of the Merge effect is given to the input of the Scale effect.
The Scale Effect scales images horizontally and vertically. Here we selected that the width should be halved. So we get as output one image consisting of the two input images and the result ha sthe same size as one input.
Now we connect the output of the Scale effect with the output of the effect page which gives the image to the converter output.

If you would drag the frame slider on the bottom of the window then the loadimage operator would load the image which belongs to the selected frame. So all the images where the new load image is inside would change in realtime and you would see how the animation will look like.
